Free grocery coupons can be found everywhere on the internet. Some websites will tell you that they have an exclusive distribution rights to a particular coupon but that’s just not the case. At least it’s not the case in most circumstances.
Let’s take a look into the mind of a grocery retailer. Why would they give free grocery coupons in the first place? Their intention is to find someone who is willing to walk into their store in order to take advance of a few dollars worth of savings. The way that grocery stores are setup is in such a way where the consumer has to walk by so many appetizing things just to find the necessary grocery items that might be on sale or for which they might have a coupon. Our impulsive human nature is such that we typically will buy at least one or two other items in the grocery store while we are there. Why do we do this? There are two reasons. The first is because the retailers are marvelous marketers. They know exactly what to put in the path of our eyes so that we will buy. The second reason is we are justifiers and we tell ourselves things like, I don’t want to have to make another trip to the store so I’ll just pick it up now. If any of those two scenarios happen, then the retailer has done their job.
Getting free grocery coupons isn’t just a one sided victory for the storeowners. We, as consumers, also win in most cases if we use coupons to purchase things that we would have bought anyway, by reducing our monthly food bill.
